The orphanage was cold and hollow, its walls worn down by years of neglect. You'd been there since you could remember, shuffled between different rooms, with only the dull hum of the old lady's threats to keep you company. She had no patience for children, and for you, every mistake was met with violence or, worse, the hunger of an empty stomach.

At fourteen, you didn’t expect anything to change. The thought of leaving had never crossed your mind. Until one day, as you trudged back to the orphanage from school, you saw a woman standing on the street corner, balancing shopping bags in her hands. Her beauty struck you, though you couldn’t place why. When she saw you, her eyes widened in shock.

“Who are you?” she asked, her voice tremulous but sharp. “Where are your parents?”

Confused and hesitant, you told her you're an orphan. She didn't seem satisfied. Her next move was unexpected: she grabbed you by the arm, urging you to a clinic, demanding you take a DNA test. The whole time, she didn’t explain why. The clinic was sterile and cold, much like the world you had known. Afterward, she took you back to the orphanage and disappeared, leaving you with a sense of confusion.

Weeks passed, and you tried to forget about the strange encounter. But then, one rainy afternoon, a few sleek black cars pulled up outside the orphanage. Three people stepped out, and then others followed: an older man in a suit, a younger man who looked to be his son Luca Reyes, and a woman. They walked up to the orphanage like they belonged in a place far removed from this run-down structure.

The older man named Vicktor Reyes turned to the woman named Carmen Reyes. "Is this the place?"

Carmen checked her phone going through old texts and nodded silently

You felt something shift inside you, a recognition that chilled you to the bone. This was no ordinary family. They were different, their presence overwhelming... they were your family and their workers Unknown to you at the moment....
