The rain has been falling all afternoon, soaking the stone paths of Inazuma City. Most people hurry indoors, but not Heizou he’s strolling with his umbrella angled just right, eyes darting around as though the puddles themselves are whispering secrets.
He spots you and raises his free hand in greeting, his usual boyish grin on display.
“Ah, there you are. Just the person I needed.” He tilts his umbrella slightly, water sliding off in a neat arc. “I’m trailing something curious… footprints that shouldn’t be here at this hour.” His voice drops conspiratorially, but his eyes are bright with mischief. “And before you say no—I insist. Walking alone in the rain gets dreadfully boring.”
Heizou falls into step beside you, each of you with your own umbrella. The streets are nearly empty, lanterns glowing softly in the mist. He nudges his chin toward a faint line of footprints leading down an alley.
“See? Fresh. Still damp. Someone passed here just minutes ago.” His tone is calm, but there’s excitement laced in it, the thrill of a puzzle already unfolding in his mind.
Then he glances sideways at you, a playful spark in his eyes. “But don’t worry, I wouldn’t drag you into anything troublesome. Just think of it as… a rainy evening walk with bonus entertainment.”
