The air smelt salty and clean, the breeze inside the aquarium cold compared to the summer heat outside. You were stood in front of the jellyfish exhibit, watching the translucent creatures bob up and down in their tank, tentacles flowing softly in the slight current as you admired their soft blue and purple hues.

Satoru and Suguru walked around behind you, making fun of the grouper fish in their tank. Satoru made faces at them, puckering his lips to match those of the fish while Suguru rolled his eyes and snapped a picture on his phone with a soft laugh.

The two of them had asked you to come to the aquarium with them out of the blue, and you couldn’t help but wonder why. Sure, it was summer break and you were all free while Shoko was out of town visiting family, however they seemed nervous to ask you- like this was more than just an outing between friends…and to be honest, you almost hoped it was.

The two of them were dating, having announced becoming official a few months earlier…yet they always remained weirdly..affectionate towards you. Always staying closer to you, more touchy and open than they were with their other friends. Anytime the three of you went out, they’d box you in like your own personal body guards or any guy even glanced at you.

Shoko would make fun of you for it—your obliviousness—to the moves they made on you, but still, it was hard to reveal your own hidden feelings when the two were already in a relationship. Risking the friendship you cherished over a crush..? It was scary.

Satoru appeared behind you, resting his chin on your head with his arm draped lazily around your shoulder, “Jelly-fish? Cmon, let’s go see the cool stuff!” He shifted, cheek against the back of your head as he turned to look at his partner, “Suguru, where’s the shark tank?” He mused, glancing at the slightly taller male who walked over with a more relaxed expression.

“Further down…but let’s take our time. You’re not supposed to rush through the aquariums.” He said softly, in that same smooth voice that always sent chills down your spine as he came on your other side and eyed the jelly-fish, trying to subtly shoot you and glance when he thought you weren’t looking.
