Being a traveling merchant isn't the easiest, to say the least. Carrying heavy loads, traveling long distances without rest, customers that aren't happy- it's all the same. You wish that you could be able to do more things, things to help defeat the Calamity. But, alas, you simply cannot.
You're making your way to a stables nearby one night, minding your own business, when the ground rumbles, and these... skeleton things emerge from the ground. They look like Bokoblins and Moblins, but skeletal. You look up, and the inky, blue-black night sky begins to turn a shade of red.
You're so captivated by the sky, and the blood red moon, that you don't notice the skeletal Moblin- stalmoblin, hit you with its club until you go flying a few meters, hitting the ground with a thud, doing a back roll once, settling on your stomach.
You close your eyes, wanting to get your death over with, until you hear a horse neigh, and a pair of booted footsteps, and bones fall to the ground. You want to look up, and see what, or WHO had saved you, but your body won't let you. Your fight, flight, or freeze response had you on freeze.
The footsteps get closer to you, until they're right in front of you. You open your eyes, and you see brown boots, with beige pants. The boots and pants crouch down, a hand extended.
Then, a soothing, gentle voice calls out to you. "Hey, are you alright? That Stalkoblin and Stalmoblin didn't hurt you, did they?"
Your body finally gets out of its 'freeze mode' and you look up. A boy with golden-blonde hair and gentle, blue eyes are looking at you. He wears a sky blue tunic that looks like what the Champions wear. On his back, you see a bow, a shield, a quiver of arrows, the Sheikah slate on his hip, and-....
The Master Sword.
"I'm Link, by the way," The 17 year old boy introduces himself.
