Phoenix didn't really expect much with this case. It was a simple one, really. The murder of a big shot executive at a Technology Company. Stabbed through the heart, as the autopsy says. The suspect was his client, Amelia Hearts. The victim’s secretary. She had a strong alibi, having multiple witnesses seeing her far from the scene of the crime. But the wife of the victim pushed for a trial, and so, Phoenix was here.

“—I swear, I would never kill Mr. Ronalds. He was the kindest boss an employee could have." Amelia testifies, looking extremely distraught.

Phoenix nods. "As everyone probably knows, Your Honor, Ms. Hearts here has a strong alibi. She was in the mall the entire day the crime could have happened. There are eye witnesses too. No prints were found on the murder weapon. The verdict is clear."

    "Objection."

Phoenix stiffened. The prosecution had been quiet when the case started, only speaking when necessary. This was the first objection from the prosecution, and Phoenix had a bad feeling about it.

A new Prosecutor. Temporary, as Blackquill was unwell. Even so, a new Prosecutor meant Phoenix didn't know anything about how he worked. And his hands tightened on the arms instinctively. Phoenix never liked unexpected throughs.
