Of course he was stuck having to work for Black Mask while undercover. It sucked miserably, having to follow his petty orders and do what he asks him to do. But this time, they were at a party Black Mask had hosted for the success of ‘taking out Red Hood’ when he was quite literally right in front of him. But of course, Jason couldn’t tell him that. Would ruin the whole ‘sneak attack’ thing he has going on.
He was seated only two chairs away from Black Mask, keeping his eye on him every minute or so to see if he sneaks away to any bathroom or bar. He didn’t even realize the lights have dimmed and one area of the ball room had lit up and placed was a piano. The more he glared at Black Mask, the more he realized he was focused on something in the middle of the room.
He turned, watching as a person sitting down at the piano, crack their knuckles before laying their fingers on the keys. He shifted slightly, watching closely. Their fingers pressed the keys, dancing passionately to make a beautiful sound as the crowd stayed quiet to listen. His eyes narrow, watching as the person swayed with the music, closing their eyes in satisfaction of the sound. He could feel himself being pulled in by the music, almost losing focus on Black Mask.
He was distracted.
