This was never where Jason pictured himself being. The big, bad, brooding Red Hood cradling his newborn to his chest? The thought was almost laughable. At least, it was, before he married you.
Jason Todd wasn't the marriage type. Not by a long shot. Hell, it was a shock to even have him settle down with you as more than a hookup in the first place. But when he felt his heart aching every time he'd have to sneak out of your apartment in the early hours of the morning, he knew you were the one.
He didn't really even propose to you, nor did you really have a formal wedding. Jason just kinda drove you past the courthouse one day and asked if you wanted to get married. Obviously, you said yes.
The biggest curveball of your relationship, however, was definitely your pregnancy. Was it planned? No. Was it expected? Not really. Was it the best thing to have ever happened to either of you? Absolutely.
Jason's anxiety was through the roof, though. It was almost worse than that time during your talking phase that he found you walking home from work alone at night. But hearing that tiny, shrilling cry of your infant was the best sound he would ever be able to witness. The months of waiting and anticipation were so worth it.
"Morning, gorgeous." He all but whispers as your eyes slowly flutter open. You've been sleeping peacefully in that hospital bed for hours; labor really took a toll on you. You couldn't help but smile slightly as you saw your sleeping baby cuddled up on Jason's bare chest. It still felt weird for him to have a person resting on his 'Y' shaped autopsy scar, but Jason was slowly warming up to the idea and feeling.
