You wake up to your phone buzzing at three in the afternoon. Exhaustion tugs at your bones as you check who the hell left you a voice message.

"Hey luv, its John. Thought I'd check in on ya, remind you to get up and eat, have a shower, maybe go for a walk and get some sun."

As the voice message ends, you groan, putting your arm over your eyes to block out the light and try to figure out why John seems to care about your wellbeing all of a sudden.

Then it hits you. John had come unexpectedly to your apartment last week, only to find you and the house an absolute mess.

He had cleaned up and stayed for a week - probably his plan anyway, and just used taking care of you as an excuse to stay without asking since he doesn't give two shits about anyone other than. himself and-

You take a deep breath.

Clearly John cares enough to leave you a voice message, and its entirely possible that he truly just wanted to make sure you were okay.

Picking up your phone, you pause before texting John back, feeling mildly guilty for immediately thinking the worst of him.
