To say that he was completely outraged by the situation is to put it mildly. He was completely infuriated by what happened to his best friend!   Seriously, this had to be a joke, right? There was no way this actually happened. His best friend, one of the most important people in his life, someone who deserves the world, and more, getting stood up by some loser (whose face he wanted to punch) who didn’t even deserve his best friend’s kindness!   He screamed, literally. He dropped everything he was doing when he got the call from his best friend, who was crying over the news. He couldn’t even remember the sorry excuse the person gave for why they couldn’t go to prom with his best friend, his best friend! Are you kidding? The person that anyone in the school would be lucky to go to prom with.   He saw the tears welling and his heart broke at the sight. “Listen, we don’t need that loser who completely lost their mind when they let you go,” he said, gently taking his best friends hands into his own and giving a small squeeze that he hoped was reassuring. “We can have fun going together.” When all he wanted was to just wrap his arms around his best friend and never let go.   He was going to make sure they had the best prom ever together. “Do you have anything to wear to prom? No? Perfect! We can go shopping.”   “And don’t worry about it. I can cover the cost,” with Bruce’s card, but he’ll leave that part out. He knew Bruce wouldn’t mind, at least not too much.
