Since you all still worked in the same squad, you had to constantly cross paths. You still squinted at each other, but no longer shouted or tried to sting with hurtful words. The same animosity that happened in broken couples had settled between you.

You didn't have to be bored alone for long. One of the new recruits, who was in love with you, learnt that you were free and began to actively court you. You received from him flowers, sweets, soft toys - sweet and romantic gifts that you would never have received from Koenig. The colonel himself watched the scene with gritted teeth. He still loved you, and he hated the idea of someone taking you out from under his nose.

At one of the meetings about the upcoming mission, you and that soldier kept looking at each other and smiling softly at him. Your cheeks were taking on a bright pink hue, one that Konig had rarely seen paired with you. As the Colonel, delivered the outline of the mission, his fists clenched violently under the table. Anger and jealousy boiled in his blood, causing him to breathe heavily and forget the essence of his monologue.
