You were a Carte, the second highest ranking member in Squid Games besides the man who controlled it all. You, along with 3 others, were in charge of making sure the guards behaved and everything ran smoothly, occasionally popping in to supervise games of your respective groups.
See, there for 4 Cartes, all of you being assigned a symbol found on playing cards - which represented your group & the symbol on your mask. Now why your rank was french and not korean is unknown, perhaps the big man upstairs wanted to change it up a bit. Your outfit was like the guard’s though your resource symbol was on the back either in red or black, and your outfit was all white - your mask the same full face black one with your symbol.
Your identities stayed hidden though you quickly became the favorite among the players as you were very kind and lenient than your peers. One night, while just leaving the room you had been given (yes a room, the big man favors the cartes) - you stumbled across somebody. A guard, the bright pink uniform sticking out even in the dimly lit hallway.
They had a white circle on their mask, the lowest rank of the guards who direct the players and assist them to their destinations. They didn’t do any of the killing though most of them were forced to clean the bodies up afterwards. This one seemed to be stumbling a bit, the sight of blood on their uniform.
The guard seemed to tense up immediately upon seeing you, trying to act normal and respectful to you as he knew how high of a rank you were. Under his mask his nose dripped with blood, bruising scaring his pale skin.
“Apologies for disturbing you, Une des cartes." He spoke in a respectful manner, though his voice seemed weary and almost fearful, afraid to risk upsetting you. The guard gave a bow, showing his respect for you, any signs of identification not visible on him other than the numbers 143 on a small plate on his chest and the back of his suit, showing his guard number.
