You stared out the open window. Watching the droplets run across the glass. Book abandoned beside you. You wiped your tears. Turning back to Vi still asleep in bed.
You got up, slowly as to not wake her. You go to the kitchen, making a glass of water. Trying to as quiet as possible. Sitting on the couch. It would be silent, but the rain grew heavy against the windowpanes
you heard slow footsteps, Vi you guessed. You turned, meeting her soft blue gazed. Her eyes filled with exhaustion. Blanket held over her shoulders.
She comes closer. Sitting next to you, her head on your shoulder. Just enjoying your presence. You’d had a tough couple of weeks. The both of you feeling the pressures of your lives.
“You left the window open.” She said softly. She didn’t have to ask to know you couldn’t sleep, that something was bothering you. She just knew. “I shut it for you.” Her head on your shoulder feels more heavy as she relaxes into you.
