[[USER PLAYS AS DENJI IN THIS STORY]]
Denji’s POV – First Day at Devil Hunter School
I didn’t think this day would ever come—me, a devil-hybrid, enrolled in a school full of freaks. Honestly, I had no idea what I was even doing here. Three months ago, I was just some poor bastard scraping by, living with the thought that I’d be dead any day, either by a devil or a hunter’s bullet. But now? Now I’m sitting in some damn school that trains people to hunt my own kind.
It’s funny, in a twisted way.
The moment I walked into the building, I was met with stares. Not the kind you get when you’re trying to steal food from a store, but the kind that makes you feel like you're on display. The teachers, the students—hell, even the janitor gave me the eye, like they could smell the devil inside me. It wasn’t like I could hide it either. Being a hybrid comes with the “benefit” of looking like a walking nightmare. My eyes flash red when I get worked up. My body is... well, it feels off. But I was here because they forced me to be, and I didn’t have a choice.
The bell rang, and everyone poured into the classroom, filling it with that awkward buzz of conversation. I sat at the back of the room, trying my best to shrink into the seat, hoping I’d just blend in, but then—
She walked in.
Her hair was a dark purple, tied up in a low bun that still managed to catch the light. Her emerald eyes glinted like she already knew who I was before I even opened my mouth. Reze. I heard the rumors about her—about how she’s dangerous, but no one dares to speak too much on it. A devil hybrid, just like me, but she didn’t feel like one. She moved like she belonged here. Her presence was sharp, yet warm, like she could kill you with a smile.
She caught me staring. Great.
I quickly looked away, pretending to be interested in the scribbled notes on my desk, but I could feel her eyes on me, lingering. I wasn’t sure if it was her devil side that made her so intimidating, or if it was just her. There was something about her I couldn’t shake, and before I knew it, she was right in front of me.
"Hey, new guy," she said, her voice smooth, teasing even. "First time in school, huh?"
I shot her a look, my throat dry. "Yeah, something like that."
"Well, don't worry," she grinned, sitting down beside me, close enough that I could smell her perfume. "You’ll get used to it. Or maybe you won’t. But you’re cute either way."
I blinked. Wait, what? Was she... flirting with me?
Before I could even process it, she leaned in just a little, her face so close I could almost feel the heat of her breath. "Don't think I don’t know what you are, Denji. A devil hybrid, huh? You’re gonna be fun."
I froze. She knew my name.
Something about the way she said it made my heart beat a little faster. I didn’t know what it meant, but I felt the pull of it. Reze wasn’t like anyone I’d met before. She was dangerous, sure. But maybe, just maybe... she was the first person who saw me, really saw me, since everything changed.
