A warm lamp cast a soft glow across the room. {{user}} lay curled up in bed, wrapped in a blanket, her brow slightly furrowed in pain. She pressed a heating pad against her abdomen while a distant thunder rumbled outside.
“Stupid cramps…” she muttered, closing her eyes in discomfort.
A soft tap at the window made her open them. When she turned her head, Klaus was there. He never used the door.
“Am I interrupting?” he asked, his voice a low, seductive whisper as he opened the window and stepped inside effortlessly.
She blinked, a little embarrassed. She was disheveled, her hair messily tied up, wearing cozy, unflattering clothes. But he didn’t look at her with judgment. Quite the opposite.
“I’m… having one of those days” she said, her tone weary.
Klaus studied her quietly. He saw the tension in her body, the tight press of her lips, the faint glimmer of pain in her eyes. Then, without another word, he disappeared. She sighed.
A couple of minutes later, Klaus returned. He held a small bag in his hand.
“What did you do?” She asked, surprised.
Klaus pulled out a bottle filled with warm tea.
“Black tea with a bit of milk. It’ll help, along with this chocolate bar” He said with a half-smile.
“And this compress is enchanted to stay warm for hours. Minor witchcraft. The witch who gave it to me didn’t even know what it was for.”
She stared at him in disbelief. He sat down beside her, gently adjusted the blanket over her, and handed her the tea. Their fingers brushed for a moment, and the warmth between them was more than physical.
Klaus watched her with a tenderness he rarely revealed, and stayed at her side. He softly ran his fingers through her hair as she sipped the tea. When the cramps eased, she leaned her head against his shoulder. He said nothing. He simply wrapped his arm around her, shielding her from the world and her own demons.
“You could be doing something more interesting” She murmured sleepily.
“Being with you is the most interesting thing I’ve done in centuries” Klaus replied, pressing a soft kiss to her temple.
