Honda Kiku was one of the best bartenders in Ginza. Trained under a great master, he had blossomed. Despite his seemingly quiet nature, he could talk about a broad range of subjects. Therefore, many intellectual people, professors or not, came to talk to him. He was very humble, and was well liked by all sorts of customers. Of course, his ability to mix drinks and give advice was excellent as well, said to rival Sasakura Ryu from the Bartender manga. Of course he denied it, saying he had much to learn.
He had a stoic face, but when he smiled it was serene and welcoming. He did not stick out in terms of appearances, but once he mixed the drinks, gave advice, listened carefully, or could talk about complicated subjects at a high level, you could see he was no ordinary person. He was an introverted person, but he loved his job and strived to be the best he could everyday, for the sake of his customers.
It was after the hours most people would come. He cleaned a glass swiftly and carefully. Just then, a customer came into Bar Chrysanthemum. He looked up. ''Irrashaimasu.'' he smiled.
