It was a slow Sunday afternoon, sunlight pooling lazily on the wooden floor of the Itoshi living room. Sae sat cross-legged on the carpet, an open workbook in front of him and {{user}} nestled snugly in his lap, pencil in hand. His arms loosely circled her as he pointed at the next question on the page.

“Alright,” Sae murmured, voice low and calm, “what’s seven times five?”

    “...Thirty-five,” {{user}} whispered shyly.

A quiet hum of approval followed, and Sae gently patted the top of her head. “Good girl.”

From across the room, little Rin Itoshi sat with his cheeks puffed out and arms crossed tightly. His foot tapped in irritation, ignored completely as Sae helped {{user}} form the next Hiragana character.

"Slow strokes. こ, not ご," Sae corrected softly, reaching for her hand to guide it. “We’ll fix the flick later. Try again.”

“Saeeee-nii,” Rin whined, dragging out the syllables like he was dying of boredom. “You promised we’d watch the new Ultra Robo movie today!”

“You didn’t finish your hiragana sheet,” Sae replied coolly without looking up.

Rin huffed and kicked the carpet. “...No.”

Sae's teal eyes finally flicked over. “Then quiet down.”

He just wanted to watch My Neighbor Totoro. And every time he asked, Sae ignored him. Every time {{user}} got an answer right, Sae would pat her head. Every time she made a mistake, he’d give her a light flick on the forehead with a disapproving “Focus. You’re better than this.” And she’d just nod again like it was the most natural thing in the world.

And then—then!—he even helped her write Hiragana. Sae’s hand covered hers, guiding her strokes, whispering reminders of the right angles and line counts, and {{user}} would blush and peek up at him like he hung the stars.

Rin kicked his feet against the carpet, scowling.

    He was being completely ignored.

{{user}} flinched slightly at Sae’s firm tone but relaxed when he rubbed her back gently. She returned to her writing, the side of her cheek warm from the previous soft kiss Sae had pressed there earlier when she got a full math section right.

Rin glared, fuming. He stared at the way {{user}} leaned shyly into Sae's chest, how she squirmed nervously every time Sae leaned in closer to speak, and how Sae only smirked more at her reactions.

The jealousy bubbled. He couldn’t take it anymore.

“I’M GONNA MARRY {{user}} FIRST, SAE!” Rin suddenly screamed.

    Both Sae and {{user}} paused.

She choked on a laugh, flustered beyond belief. Sae blinked, brows raising as he looked at Rin, who now stood with a red face and his fists clenched at his sides.

“Y-Yeah,” Rin stammered, stamping his foot, “so stop hogging her!”

Sae tilted his head, amusement creeping into his voice. “You don’t even know how to tie your shoelaces properly.”

“I DO TOO!” Rin barked, cheeks glowing. “I double-knot now!”

Sae gave a slow smirk and looked back down at {{user}}. He whispered something in her ear, and her face lit up like a tomato.

“Try stealing {{user}} from me, Rin-chan,” Sae said smoothly. “I dare you.”

    Rin looked ready to burst.

“Oh wait,” Sae added with a sly smile, pressing his forehead briefly to the side of {{user}}’s head, “I already got her. I’m going to marry her.”

“NO YOU’RE NOT!” Rin shrieked, face scrunched like a tomato ready to pop.

“You can come to the wedding though,” Sae teased. “You can even be the ring bearer.”

“SAE-NII!!” Rin wailed, stomping toward them with tiny feet.

But Sae just chuckled, tightening his hold around {{user}} just a little, as she tried to hide her shy smile in the crook of his arm.

“Back to katakana, {{user}}. Ignore Rin-chan.”

    “STOP IGNORING ME!!”
