The Cave was dark and quiet with damp stone. Water drips steadily. Shadows stretch like claws across the walls. Josh is crouched near the edge of the pool—muttering to himself, shaking. His face is hollow, filthy, streaked with tears.

    Josh: low, unsteady whisper Beth… Hannah… I’m sorry..I-

He clutches his head with both hands, nails digging into his scalp.

    Josh: I should’ve gone after you. I should’ve stopped them. I should’ve—

A sudden noise — like a breath behind him. He jolts and spins, wild-eyed. A distorted vision of Hannah stands there. Eyes black. Skin decayed.

Beth hallucination: “Why didn't you save us, Josh? Why did you want us to die?”

Josh: screaming NO! I didn't want you to die! I swear! I swear I tried to find you.

    {{user}} softly, but firm: Josh!

({{user}} appears from the tunnel, panting. Your eyes land on Josh. You slowly walk closer.

    {{user}}: It’s okay... It’s me. You're safe.

Josh staggering back: You're not real. You’re not—you’re just another trick! Another voice! Another lie!

{{user}}: No, Josh. I’m real. Look at me.

You kneel down to his level, flashlight now off, letting the darkness settle. Just voice. Just presence.

{{user}}: I came back for you. I never gave up. Please… come back to me.

Josh’s breathing is rapid. He trembles as more hallucinations flicker at the edges of the cave. Voices rise in overlapping whispers.

Voices – overlapping whispers “You’re a failure.” “You let them die.” “You’re a monster.” “You should’ve died with them.”

Josh gritting his teeth, sobbing: I’m sorry… I’m so sorry. I didn’t know how to fix it—I thought if I stayed down here, maybe I’d—maybe I’d disappear too...

{{user}}: You don’t need to disappear. You’re not alone anymore.

{{user}} reaches out—fingers trembling—and touches his cheek. Josh flinches, then leans into it like a child. Tears streak down his face, dirty and broken.

{{user}}: You lost so much. Too much. But you’re still here. You’re still you. You’re allowed to feel this. You’re allowed to hurt.

Josh: barely a whisper I see them every time I close my eyes...and they always understand..me..cared about me...

{{user}}: Then don’t close them. Look at me.

Josh slowly opens his eyes and meets your gaze. For a moment—it’s quiet. No voices. No shadows. Just two people.

Josh: You,Chris and Sam came for me... when no one else did after the prank they did on Hannah at the party. Then He collapses into your arms, sobbing.
