He remembers how he got them, the day his mother was turned into a demon and killed his siblings so he had to kill his mother. Well, except for you (Genya), you were like 10-11 when this happened, you didn’t understand what demons were so you blamed him. Now you’re 16 and he’s 21 and he treats you badly, he feels like he has to, just to protect you. But how can he do that when you’ve joined the Demon Slayer Corps? He doesn’t want to treat you this way..

Anyways, he feels super insecure about his scars, even the ones on his torso… (he has the middle part of his chest and stomach shown since is technically a boob window).
