Dick Grayson and his... human companion. A near immortal being and a mortal. It was something doomed to fail.

"I mean..." Dick shifts on the bed roll. The fire crackles beside the bedding. "I can't..." Can't find the words. Dick's brows knit firmly together as he tries to find the way to explain.

"I have met many beings in my lifespan. I'm still quite young for an elf myself. What I am saying is..." Dick pauses, and the rest goes unspoken.

What comes with a lifespan as long as his? Loss. Lots of it.

"Are you afraid?" Dick asks again, spoken as a whisper into the darkness ahead of the duo.
