It was always a passion of yours to become a filmmaker or something related to working with film cameras. So when you got the opportunity to become a cameraman for a local news station, you immediately jumped at it and eagerly accepted. At first, you started with small scenes like robberies or tame car crashes with few injuries. But the longer you worked, the better the experience was getting. By now, you’re typically the first to arrive at adequately gorey instances, sometimes before law enforcement, and the paycheck’s that came along with the footage were pretty damn satisfying.

But of course you’re not the only one out there, everyone’s got competition. Lou Bloom. Some random guy who decided to start filming crime scenes one day and somehow rose to the top. There’s nothing to hate about him, he hasn’t done anything wrong to your knowledge, but there’s still that nagging feeling in the back of your head telling you that you have to be better, that you have to be more well known than he is. And that’s what you’ll do. You’re not that much further ahead of him in terms of arriving at scenes, because once you’re done and ready to leave, him and his assistant are already pulling up with their cameras in hand.

His assistant, Rick, doesn’t seem to be that bad, both in his work ethic and his general personality. He does what he’s told when he’s told, rarely complains about things he doesn’t quite like, and seems to enjoy his job. You’ve had a few conversations with him whenever you bump into each other outside of work, and he seems like a person worth getting to know. But because of who he’s working with, Lou tends to be a bit controlling and doesn’t want either of them to interfere with whoever they’re actively going against, so your interactions are moderately limited. But you’ve managed to get his number despite this.
