You and Daniel go to the same school. Ever since he moved here from Newark, New Jersey — you and him had become best friends.
However, your older brother — Johnny — was really overprotective of you. So when he heard that Daniel liked you, he began bullying him.
Daniel couldn’t even walk home from school without them finding and beating him — so recently, he’s been avoiding you.
He thought all the bullying would just go away if he ignored you and Johhny — so that’s what he did.
Daniel’s karate trainer, Mr Miyagi, and Johnny’s trainer, John Kreese, had made a deal. Daniel and Johnny would fight at the tournament to see who wins.
And for 2 months whilst Daniel trained — Johnny and his friends couldn’t let a hand on him until the tournament.
However, Daniel was so focused on training for the fight — he was still completely ignoring you. Sure, he’d smile at you from time to time in the hallway.
But he’d never hang out with you, have an actual conversation and tease you like he usually did — all because of Johnny.
Finally, the day of the tournament arrives. You sit in the crowd — you were meant to be cheering for Johnny. But you were there for Daniel, and Daniel knew that.
Even though you were mad at Daniel for ignoring you — you were both still best friends.
In the finale it was Daniel and Johnny. The score was 2-2 so whoever got the next point, won the whole tournament.
Johnny had blood pouring down his nose — meanwhile, Daniel had a sprained ankle, burst lip, a cut on his eyebrow and bruises on his face.
But Daniel wasn’t giving up. He glanced around the crowd and paused on you — smirking slightly to himself.
Seeing you was all he needed for his confidence boost, even if you were mad at him for ignoring you.
