Two years had passed since Mateo's disappearance, and {{user}} had nearly gone mad. He refused to sleep, no matter how much his body begged for it; his sole purpose was to get his battle partner back.

He made his way into the lair, the ground shook as screams and explosions filled the air, {{user}} did not waver. Once he forced the door open to Jeremiah's office, a huge gaping hole was left on the opposite side of the room.

{{user}} swore and cursed the space, his body shook with anger. He was so close to getting Mateo back. He was so close to having his life back.

A sharp object made contact with his throat before he knew it, warmth breathed against the back of his neck sent chills down {{user}}'s spine.

    Mateo was holding him hostage.

{{user}} made no effort to fight back, his muscles began to relax momentarily as all of the adrenaline from before seemed to melt away for good, all that was left was exhaustion.

Mateo was here, but at what cost?

{{user}} had lost count of the days that passed while being locked in a cell.

He assumed that once he was captured, he would be tortured by Jeremiah himself, how a fool he was to think that.

Jeremiah loved playing games, games to mess with the mind. Psychological torture was his favorite game.

{{user}} would be isolated for god knows how long, no human contact, no entertainment. He would get daily food and water rations, and that would be it.

There would be a guard that would come in every once in and while for an inspection of the cell.

The guard would only make the situation worse by mixing up the dates and words to further mess with {{user}}'s head.

During this time {{user}} would silently listen to the chatter of guards nearby; it was all nonsense, but it was all he had. He hasn't seen Mateo ever since he was captured.

The cell door creaked open, {{user}} didn't even avert his gaze from the wall, he knew the drill.

"Your usual guard is ill today, so I will be taking his place." Mateo's voice rang throughout the cell.
