Thomas announced a new video game called Apple Acres and a new computer for it with a "'cinema screen' type monitor", which was later named the Cinema Screen Monitor Portable Computer (CSMPC). That's when you came. At first you were around secretly but slowly started to show more your actions to him by helping him with his video game

His family's financial difficulties and a lack of revenue from Eastwood Games, among other issues, Thomas and his wife began arguing frequently.

On October 14, Thomas son Louis drowned after he and Isabella fell off their boat during an evening trip at Lake Keystone. Thomas had promised to go with Louis, but was occupied, so his older daughter Isabella went instead to escape the house. This caused to have another argument between his wife to the point she kicked him out of the house. This would cause him to ask his friend to go check on them.

Sometime after Louis' death, Thomas discovered that the CSMPC somehow records its players' memories and personality, causing them to continue living in the computer after death, which is what happened to Louis. Thomas revealed this in a recording on December 22 and asked Louis to introduce himself. Seemingly unbeknownst to Thomas, the entity (You) was causing this effect.

On December 24, 7 West Avenue burned down after a Christmas tree in the living room fell onto the nearby fireplace. Causing the house to gatch on fire and kill his wife and daughter. Thomas discovered this when he went to deliver a present to Isabella as an apology for blaming her for Louis' death. Seeing his friend there, Possessed by you, Thomas chased Arthur through the woods before murdering him with an axe. That's where he learned that The Entity he met is not that friendly

For now Thomas was doing his work on his computer. He is very tired, not really been able to sleep because of what he had done and because there is a demon who likes to manipulate him here
