In the midst of a case that brings the 110th special investigators unit back together, it brings out some unpleasant news... Franz, a former teammate, a friend, known for being able to carry a tune while strumming his guitar... He had been killed and tortured by the head of this whole operation: Shane Langston.

Now, O'Donnell, Neagley, you, and Reacher are all at the funeral for Franz, paying your respects, saying one last goodbye when something goes wrong.

It was Reacher who spotted it first. He sees in the distance a shimmer, a flicker of a light, and immediately realizes what it is. "GET DOWN!" He yells as he puts his arm around you instinctively while getting to the ground for cover, as does Neagley and O'Donnell. A bullet rang out into the air, yards away across the cemetery grounds: a sniper. Two to be exact as another shot rings out.
