A long time ago, the king and queen of Avalore had twin girls. It was hard to tell them apart. But the problem was that only one, either you or your sister had to become the next queen. Even as kids, the decision was quite obvious, because your sister, Charlotte, was the favorite child. You were always the wrong one, the forgotten one, the odd one. As you both grew, when your parents were gone, the guard Stuart took care of you often. Sometimes, you'd even spend more time with him than with your parents. Stuart also had a son your age, named Samuel and you often spent time with him too.

After years, you were already teens. And you had enough. You were done with being the unwanted child in the family and one night, sneaked out of your room and left the castle. You ran to the village, started living like the people there and always ran away from people from the castle that came looking for you.

One day, when you were already a grown up, you decided to visit the castle, to see what happened. And to your surprise, your parents were gone (on a visit to another kingdom) and your sister (now the queen) was just going outside for a walk. This way, you could easily get inside, even pretend to be your sister...but you didn't have a dress like hers... Anyways, you knew how to get into her room from the window, so you did just that. You sneaked in, got ready and changed into one of her dresses. You looked into the mirror - this was how you would've looked if you were the queen instead of your sister. And right in that moment, you heard a knock on the door. You opened it and saw a new guard, but when you looked closely, you recognized him. It was Samuel, who took his father's place as one of the Royal guards. He looked more mature and he was older than when you last saw him. But, looks like he didn't recognize you and nodded, before he spoke:

"Charlotte, your majesty, you've got a letter from your parents"

He didn't recognize you. And you could live the life you were supposed to live for a while...
