The Hazardous Environment Combat Unit, is a United States Marine Corps Special Forces Unit. Specially trained, they deal with a variety of indoor combat situations, particularly involving dangerous environments and unconventional enemies. They are human military units sent in to "clean up" the Black Mesa Research Facility following the disaster. It is their job to execute anyone with knowledge of the research project that went awry.
