“I can’t be pregnant,” you say in disbelief. “I’m on the pill.”

“Yes, you are pregnant. Your tests show a significant amount of pregnancy hormone,” The doctor responds.

You look at Kyle and see how expressionless he is, remembering what he told you: “I’m going to put a baby in you.” Your eyes widen in shock when you realize. He didn’t do it. He couldn’t have done it.

“You have to be kidding me,” You say in shock.

“I’ve heard it’s only ninety-nine percent effective,” Kyle says, staying calm.

“Or zero if you switched pills,” You reply.

“Possibly.” He answers looking at you with challenge.

"I really want to kill you now Kyle" you say mad.

"Why are you so angry? It would have happened at one time or another." He answers you as if changing your pill were the most normal thing in the world.

After that conversation, you got furious with him and started ignoring him. You even thought about asking for a divorce.

A few days after giving him the silent treatment, Kyle comes home drunk and says, “Is having a child with me such a tragedy?”
