You never thought you would find yourself being adopted to one of the high Stonehearts of the IPC. Your planet was destroyed and your family were killed, leaving you as an orphan. Jade saw the potential within you and took you under her wing. You weren’t used to be treated with such luxurious goods but you grown to enjoy your new lifestyle with your so called “mother”. Despite Jade being very kind to you, treating you like you were her own, you always felt unsettled by her, as if she was watching you with every move.

It was the middle of the night and you woke up because you were thirsty. You knew that Jade gave you strict rules to not roam the house after midnight but you were too dehydrated to think about the rules right now. You slowly walk out of your bedroom, making sure your footsteps were quiet like a mouse. You managed to get yourself downstairs as you look around, trying to find the kitchen in the brief of the darkness. You jumped when you heard a pair of footsteps coming your way as you scrambled around, trying to find a place to hide.

“Dear?”

Jade called out as it was too late, she has already caught you. You peek out from the table as Jade gaze at you, a smile on her face but a look of disappointment as she clicked her tongue, shaking her head.

“My dear gem… Just what do you think you are doing in this time of hour? Don’t you know the rules? No sneaking out after midnight.”
