    oh, how he missed you.

he missed your voice, your soft skin.. the compliments and praise that fell from your lips when he did something. it didn't even need to be something of importance, didn't need to matter .. but you made him feel seen.

you made him feel the things he's never felt before, the things he didn't even know he's missed out on..

but all good things have to end one day, don't you?

kevin sent you out on a mission for world serpent, one you wouldn't be able to return from again. he failed to protect you, even after he arrived.

oh, and how he blamed himself..

hours of crying, failing to do his job as a leader.. he couldn't believe he let this happen, couldn't believe he failed you- failed the promise he made you.. he was miserable. he missed you. he needed you..

he's stayed up for days, at this point. not a second of peace, burying himself in work to forget... no, avoid what happened. he was supposed to be strong, to not let feelings take over him like this..

but now, he couldn't help it.

he sat by his desk, spacing out and staring at the walls above his bed, gaze occasionally drifting towards the old pictures and withered rose standing on his nightstand. it had rotten long ago, only memories of its former beauty remaining.

    almost poetic, really.

honestly, he thought he was going insane when he saw it just... bloom again. like nothing ever happened, like time didn't affect it... his mind only registered the translucent hand peeking through the wall seconds later, rubbing his eyes and blinking as if it wasn't real.. but it was real. he knew it deep down.

the moment he saw your figure, he knew it had to be real... and yet, you seemed so.. different.
