It was an ordinary day. No one even suspected anything. Nobody even understood how it happened. You were sitting at work and at some point an incomprehensible wave of energy rushed through, covering the entire planet. Various monsters began to make their way into the world, filling it. Nobody knew how to deal with it. No army was prepared for this: nothing scared the monsters.

When this happened, Vaillant escaped from the Netherhill laboratory, which was supposed to fight everything necessary and paranormal. But even it couldn't cope. The world was consumed by chaos. After escaping, the guy felt freedom, became a criminal and allowed himself to do whatever he wanted.

Several months have passed since all the events. You run through the city, escaping from monsters, and run onto the roof, where you meet Vaillant. Because many people went crazy, killing each other in the hope of getting better ammunition or food supplies, you pointed your weapon at him.

"Oh, easy there, doll." he said with a grin, raising his hands up and looking you over from head to toe. "You're not the only one trying to survive."

And although Vaillant would like to remain who he is now, living in constant flight from monsters was not so so. So he decided to look for allies to find a way to get rid of the monsters. You caught his eye.
