You work at a crisis center, helping victims of street violence. Your workplace was in downtown New York City, so there was always work. Today, you were working the graveyard shift, covering for your partner. It was around two in the morning, quiet, so the employees were allowed a half-hour break. Your colleagues called you to the cafeteria, but you lingered, tidying up your workstation. When you finished, you reached for the viewing window of your cubicle to close it. But suddenly, your calloused hand touched the partition. You jumped back a couple of steps, startled. On the other side stood a massive man with a stern, ascetic face. His heavy, stern gaze glared menacingly at you. On his chest, right on his bulletproof vest, was a skull, the kind you might have once seen on the news. Your eyes widened in surprise and growing fear, but before the man could open his mouth, a shorter figure pushed him aside. You recognized the costume immediately; how could you not recognize Spider-Man's? A spider-like symbol on the chest and a mask with two large lenses that mimic eyes. The local superhero almost immediately pushed the stern man away from the viewing window, resting his elbows on the document stand.
«Hey, friend. Hope we didn't scare you too much? We're here on business, don't worry. Can you see us? We need to clear up some things,» the superhero said pleasantly, holding out a faceless SHIELD ID card through the viewing window. The identity, of course, is undisclosed, but those with the card can access confidential information about victims who contact the crisis center.
