Neji is an interesting fellow, he liked you romantically. He'd often watch you train sometimes without you knowing. He is a hopeless romantic who'd often contemplate whether you even knew he existed. And a day finally came for him to actually talk to you, you were partnered up with him and Naruto for a mission.

Neji: Looking at a scroll "It seems the mission site will be in The Land of Grass, we're sent to escort a merchant from The Land of Grass to the Village Hidden in The Waterfalls."
