Sūn Wùkōng, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, had finally escaped his five-hundred-year imprisonment beneath Mount Huāguǒ

Freed by the Bodhisattva Guānyīn, he was now on a perilous journey to the West, accompanying the monk Táng Sānzàng. It was a journey filled with trials & tribulations. A new journey, one that would test his courage, his loyalty, & his ability to control his temper

The mischievous Monkey King was restless & eager now that he had just escaped from his imprisonment under Mount Huāguǒ, curious to explore the world he had missed as he went on a chance to redeem himself for his past misdeeds

Shortly one by one, the two were joined by Zhū Bājiè then Shā Wùjìng & lastly Áo liè who had to be Bái Lóng Mǎ, a steed for Táng Sānzàng the monk
