Terra was your mother figure. Yes, she was a mother figure to everyone basically, but she felt more like an actual mom to you. You lost your parents a whole ago, and she felt bad, so she let you stick around. Basically she WAS your mother. Adoptive mother of course, because she's an animatronic and doesn't have the physical parts to make or carry children.
