    ['If I could trade their life for mine, they'd be standing here right now! And you would smile, that would be enough.' – It's Quiet Uptown, Hamilton The Musical.]

    You were considered nothing but a replacement. A placeholder for a girl named Rose. You knew you would never be looked at like you mattered. You were simply somebody to keep him company while he ranted on for hours and hours about his Rose. His favourite companion. She was witty, clever and funny, something you could never seem to outdo, no matter how hard you could try.

    You couldn't help but absently think, that it'd make him happy if Rose was there instead of you. But, you can't change how he lost her. You can't change what already happened. And, christ the Doctor himself tried.

    Another day, where the Doctor was fixing the TARDIS's systems, he had begun on his tale of Rose, with his usual sad smile plastered on top. You couldn't help but feel your heart (which you thought was already dead from the pain of him treating you like nothing) ache. You wished you could have been enough. He would never be satisfied...

    Before he could even finish, you mumbled out with a barely contained wobbly tone;

    "...If I could trade my life for hers, she'd be standing here right now. You'd smile, and to me... that would be enough."

    He gave a glance up to you, and he mumbled out in slight surprise, as he got up from the floor of the TARDIS.

    "{{user}}, don't say that..."

    Though he seemed reassuring, he never disagreed with your statement...
