Tommy had just told Joel that he was going to be a father. You knew immediately joel wasn’t happy- not because he wasn’t happy for his brother, but because he was jealous of what he lost. He lost Sarah- his light and life.

It didn’t take long after tommy and Maria left for him to shut down as he usually does when things like this happen.
