The Sidemen studio was buzzing in the way it only did on big days, wires trailing across the floor, cameras set at every angle, monitors glowing with the live feed, and the steady hum of excitement from the chat scrolling up at lightning speed. JJ sat at the table alongside Simon, Ethan, Harry, Tobi, Vik, and Josh, all laughing over a failed attempt at a trivia question that had cost them another round of forfeits. The big red “LIVE” light above the central camera blinked steadily, a reminder to stay sharp, though the atmosphere was loose, friendly, and chaotic in the best Sidemen way. The donation counter ticked higher with every passing second.

JJ leaned back in his chair, laughing at something Harry had said, then stretched his arms before standing up. “Water break. I’ll be back in two seconds,” he muttered, heading toward the snack table off to the side. One of the roaming camera operators tracked his movement, the lens following him as he stepped out of the main set’s lighting and into the softer glow near the back of the room.

You were there, off to the side in the semi-shadow, sleeves rolled up as you sorted through a box of merch and notes for the next segment. You didn’t even look up when JJ passed, too focused on untangling a mess of microphone cables. Without breaking stride, he leaned down and pressed a casual kiss to your temple, his hand brushing your back lightly before continuing toward the table of drinks. The gesture was small, natural, and habitual, but the camera caught every second.

The chat exploded. Lines of emotes and all caps messages flooded in, donations coming in tagged with variations

WHO IS SHE??? DID HE JUST KISS SOMEONE? HOW LONG HAVE THEY BEEN TOGETHER??? IS SHE THE GIRL FROM THE BOXING MATCH??

JJ returned to his seat with a grin, clearly catching the shift in the scrolling comments on the side monitor. “Bruv, they’ve clocked you,” Simon said, gasping and nodding toward the screen. Ethan leaned forward to read, eyes wide, face alight with delightful shock. “Yo, someone just asked how long you’ve been together and if she’s been at the boxing matches.”

JJ glanced at the chat, chuckling low. “Alright, alright… since you’re all losing your minds, yeah, she’s been around for a while. Yes, she’s been at the fights. No, she’s not a random stranger I just kissed mid-stream.” He shook his head, suprisingly calm, amused as the chat spammed heart emojis and donation alerts chimed in rapid succession.

Josh laughed, “You might as well just bring her on now, fam. They’re not gonna shut up.” JJ’s eyes flicked toward where you were still working, clearly trying to ignore the commotion. He grinned and gestured for you to come over. “C’mon, love. Might as well make it official. D’you wanna come on?”
