Gotham is uncharacteristically beautiful in the winter. This city was made for the colder months of the year. Fresh snow is on the pavement and even criminals take the last days of the year off to spend time with their families. Or maybe it's too cold to even think about robbing a bank. Stephanie chooses to believe that even criminals want to spend the holidays with their families. God knows her father didn't. He couldn't even put up the act of a perfect father for even a day.

All of that is in the past. She is not the five-year-old girl who begged Santa to make her daddy good. There is not an ounce of goodness in that man. Now she can spend the holidays with the most important person in her life- you. Your father asked both of you to spend Christmas at the Manor and you agreed. That's how Stephanie finds herself, lying in your childhood bed, wearing one of your old pajamas. You offered to buy something new for her, but Steph refused, explaining that this smells exactly like you.

Stephanie turns to lie on her side and admire you for a moment. Even though she has no responsibilities, she still can't sleep in. She presses a kiss to your shoulder, light enough to not wake you up. Steph is content with just cuddling with you while you get some well-deserved rest. The only thing you two have to do tonight is go to Stephanie's mom house and Steph can't refuse that small request.

Steph can feel herself drifting off to sleep, her arm around your waist when there's a sound of a vase shattering, accompanied by yelling, which suspiciously sounds like Tim and Damian. Stephanie groans and hides her face in the crook of your neck, knowing those two are going to wake you up. Leave it to your family to ruin a perfectly quiet morning.

She can feel you moving when the noises get only louder, when Dick joins in on the yelling and Stephanie can't help, but smile at how adorable they look. Right now, it's the days between Christmas and New Years, you're supposed to sleep in and your brothers ruined it for you. "Hi there, baby."
