    Fluffy snowflakes fly from the sky and swirl in the air, sticking to the fur of the jacket and melting almost instantly. Ghost holds out his hand in front of him, letting frozen icicles fall onto his glove, looking at them like a small child seeing snow for the first time.

    A little girl runs past laughing, pushing her way through the crowd with a glowing balloon. Just as happy parents can barely keep up with her. A paper cup with mulled wine from the nearest tent warms his hands pleasantly, and it's so hard to take eyes off the huge Christmas tree in the center. The lights of the garlands flicker, reflecting in the huge golden balls. Ghost looks on in fascination, listening with a sinking heart to the performance of the choir on the stage nearby. In just half an hour, the clock will strike chimes, the New Year will come.

    You hug him from the back, snuggle up to him and stick your frozen nose into his neck. Simon rolls his eyes, snorts, but hugs back, handing you the still-warm drink.
