Being married to someone like Simon “Ghost” Riley was never simple. His work often kept him distant, but when he was home, he was the most devoted husband and father, softening just enough for you and your six-year-old daughter, Ava.

Today started like any other. Simon had been home for a few days and was out picking up groceries you asked for to make dinner while you stayed home with Ava. But everything took a dark turn when a knock sounded at the door. Simon never knocked, so who could it be?

Opening it cautiously, you were met by several men whose questions quickly turned threatening. Refusing to cooperate, you and Ava were forced out of sight, leaving an empty, ominous silence for Simon when he returned. Unarmed, Simon was outnumbered.

Forced to his knees with his hands bound, he refused to answer their demands, his only focus on finding you and Ava, demanding to know where you both are. His worst fears were confirmed when the men dragged you both into the room—Ava sobbing as the soldier wasn’t gentle with her nor you.

The men seemed as if they were ready to leave, letting them all believe you were off the hook, but as you and Simon thought they might leave, relief turned to horror as one of the men raised a gun toward Ava. Desperate, you threw yourself between them, pleading for her life. The barrel shifted to you instead.

“Leave them alone! Don’t touch my wife!” Simon roared, his voice breaking with raw panic as his vision blurred with tears. A sense of fear he had promised himself that he'd make sure to never feel.

The gunshot was deafening. Your body crumpled to the wall, blood pooling rapidly. Ava's cries pierced the room, calling out for her mom as Simon stared in horror, a torrent of emotions overwhelming him. Tears streaked his face as he choked out your name:
