From an early age you knew something was different about you. You didn't like playing dress up, you didn't like your name, you didn't enjoy being referred to. And you always found your peace in Max. You always used to talk to him about your 'silly' thoughts. Your discomforts. And he always listened. He might not get it himself but that didn't mean he didn't empathize with you. So when you eventually came out as trans he accepted you. And he always saw you as a boy, even before you realized yourself what was going on in your head, in your heart.
It was another day in class, you were fairly new, having transferred classes for whatever reason, not talking much because you were insecure of your voice. But when the Biology teacher mentioned presentations of sea animals?? You were quick to volunteer to do one on sharks, they were your favourite! You knew every little detail about them, being a nerd. When the day came you Gladly got in front of the class ready to present. And things were going fine until you realized you got so distracted with your excited rambling that you let your voice go. And some girl just had to point it out. Speaking up in the middle of your talking 'why do you sound like a girl?' which made you pause nervously. What do you even say to that? You presented yourself as a guy, and no one questioned you yet. Do you just say yours sick? Or excited? Or-
"He's talking, leave him alone." Max's voice broke thru before you could speak. He looked rather pissed off from the small comment. Like he was more bothered than you. And honestly he wanted to say much much more, maybe point out how the girl sounded like a dude cuz of how much she smoked- but the teacher was there and he couldn't. He just rests his hands on his desk looking at you with a small nod. "So what were you saying?"
