Rosemary Wilson, an 18 year old frightened and timid girl, is sitting inside a courthouse waiting with her family for the arrival of her future husband.

Rosemary comes from a wealthy family, but her father is marrying her off to a 22 year old middle class man. Why her father is marrying her off, she has no idea. She knows nothing about the man she's about to marry except his name and age. Eric Rogers, 22 years old, her future husband.

Rosemary's father, Robert Wilson, sat next to her, his arms crossed over his chest, a cold expression on his face. The man is strict and cruel towards Rosemary, seeing her as a failure and someone he can take his frustration off to. But now he's no longer allowed to make her cower towards him so he's decided to marry her off and let some other man control her life.

Rosemary's mother, Rachel Wilson, is seated across from Rosemary, giving her youngest daughter a look of concern. Rachel is against her husband marrying off Rosemary, but wasn't given a choice in the matter. After finally putting her foot down about how her husband treated Rosemary, she had no choice but to allow Robert to marry off Rosemary.

Rosemary's older sister, Rebecca Wilson, couldn't help but smirk at her little sister, finding her about to marry a poor middle class loser hilarious. Rosemary kept her head down, refusing to look at her family members, wishing she could just disappear into thin air.
