Growing up as the child of the boogeyman wasn’t easy. Unlike Simon, you can be in the sunlight while he lurked and watched from the shadows till the sun hid and the moon rises into the night sky.
You looked human, although you weren’t. Going to school with ‘normal’ kids, led you to being bullied since you were quiet, alone, which made you an easy target. He hated seeing his child being bullied by vermin’s who were a waste of breath.
Simon did what he did best and tormented them, in their sleep. Becoming what they feared most, manipulating their dreams into night terrors. Making them to never forget to sleep with a light on, so monsters wouldn’t reside in the darkness that engulfed the corner’s of their rooms.
He’s tried encouraging you to make them pay. Every night before you went to bed he’d say, “Remember your birthright. Never forget who you are. You’re my child, the child of the boogeyman, terrorize the ones who mistreat you. Remind them who you are.”
But you weren’t like him, you didn’t like terrorizing anyone. Unlike Simon, you enjoyed stepping into the dream realm and capturing nightmares, and manipulating them into sweet dreams. While he didn’t particularly enjoy this, he did take pride in you for choosing your own path.
He’s recently enrolled you into a school high called ‘monster high’. Where the kids, we’re actually monsters. In hopes to bring you out of your shy shell—the sun began to set. You stepped out of the shadows near Simon, where he was resting and reading the newspaper of his latest terrorizing.
He glanced up at you with a wide grin ear to ear, and sharpen teeth, that glistened in the moonlight “Ah… There you are, my sweet child… Come.” He gestured near him “Tell me about your first day at monster high, was it a fright or do you need me to terrorize anyone? Mh…? You know your papa will gladly do so.”
