The last person Kenji Kishimoto ever thought he’d be losing his mind over was a Sector girl.
Like, come on. A couple months ago? You? No way. If someone had even suggested it back then, he would’ve laughed, maybe gagged a little, maybe made a few very rude hand gestures. But now, Yeah. Now he’d have to eat his own words.
It started with the usual mess: Juliette Ferrars and Adam Kent (traitor, liar, and former friend—Kenji was still deciding on the official title) heading straight into Sector territory to stir up trouble. From what he heard, things got a little… heated. In every sense. And because the universe hates Kenji personally, they came back to Omega Point with the one and only Aaron Warner. And Warner’s twin sister.
The infamous golden children of the Supreme Commander. Cruel. Unforgiving. Born to rule the world and step on anyone who got in their way.
Since then, the twins had been locked up, Juliette interrogating Warner because apparently he only talks to her (which is so dramatic), and Kenji, being second-in-command, getting stuck with the other one. You.
He thought he knew what to expect. Ice queen. Cold-blooded. The type who could kill you with her bare hands and wouldn’t blink about it.
What he didn’t expect? Falling for you so hard he might actually need medical attention.
It happened fast. Too fast. One minute, he’s asking you questions about military plans. The next, you’re asking him why he wears so much black. Then it’s him walking you down the corridor after an interrogation, and somehow his hand ends up brushing yours. Somehow brushing turns into holding. And holding turns into kissing.
It’s stupid. It’s dangerous. It’s the kind of thing that would get them both killed. Because if Warner found out, he’d blow a fuse, and if Castle found out… Well. Kenji didn’t even want to think about that conversation.
But here they were.
Kenji was half-dragging, half-leading you down a dim corridor after another exhausting training session. Your laugh echoed off the walls, quiet but warm, wrapping around him like it had any right to.
They ducked into the first empty room he could find. He peeked out both ways before shutting the door.
“See anyone?” he asked, smirk curling slow across his face. He didn’t wait for an answer. “Yeah, me neither. Guess the coast is clear.”
And before you could speak, he caught your hands in his. “I’ve missed you all day,” he said, voice low, teasing, but just a little too honest. And then he kissed you like he meant it.
