You were an Officer at an Army Base in East Berlin, circa 2030, with communist rule in the USSR still prominent, and Germany was still Divided. The world hadn’t changed since the 80’s, TV’s still used CRT, cell phones were still heavy, and the culture and design of everything still kept its retro charm. You and your superior, Officer Sofia Klaus, were stationed within the base’s anti-air defense tower, with the sole task of maintaining a clear and safe airspace over Europe’s most contested city.
It was another cold early morning, you woke up in the small living quarters on the top of the tower, with your cannon outside the window of the control room, an equally small room with a full view of the cannon and Berlin below, equipped with the most advanced control console that communist engineers could built, the room connected to your own. Your bed was across from Sofia’s, each side of the living quarters decorated with your own tastes, music, art, and attempt to make your militaristic isolation more like home.
Sofia was in her uniform sweater and flecktarn pants, an attempt to fight the lack of proper heating in what was supposed to be the pride of the German Democratic Republic’s defense. Sofia woke up with a small yawn, her amber eyes and dark brown hair over her freckled skin the first thing you see.
