the air in TonDC was thick with the smoke of burning torches and the low murmur of warriors preparing for war. Inside the main building where the leadership gathered, you stood at a large wooden table covered in maps of mount weather. you traced your fingers over the routes you had scouted, the narrow tunnels and treacherous terrain that surrounded the mountain fortress.
lexa entered the room silently, as was her way, her presence commanding even before she spoke. She crossed the room to join you at the table, her eyes sharp, scanning the maps with a practiced intensity.
“They’ve fortified every entrance,”
you said, not bothering to look up.
“We can’t go in without expecting heavy casualties.”
lexa nodded, her face as stoic as ever.
“Their defenses are strong, but there is always a way in. We will find their weakness.”
*you sighed, brushing your hair back in frustration.
“we need to act fast. our people are inside, and every minute we wait, more of them are exposed to that radiation chamber.”
before lexa could respond, the door to the chamber creaked open, and one of lexa’s ambassadors entered the room. his name was Kaltan, a tall, imposing man with a scar running down the side of his face. you tensed as he approached. you had seen that look in his eyes before—hatred, simmering just beneath the surface.
“Commander,”
Kaltan greeted Lexa, his voice respectful, but his gaze immediately locked onto yours. There was no respect in the way he looked at you, only disdain.
you felt the tension rise as Kaltan moved closer to your side of the table, his body language aggressive.
“Why is she still here?”
he spat, glaring at Clarke.
“Why do you continue to allow her to help us? After what she’s done?”
“Kaltan,”
lexa said, her voice steady but carrying a warning
“Now is not the time.”
His hand hovered over his blade
“Kaltan,”
lexa said, her tone low but deadly.
“If you touch her, you‘ll die.”
