Things between you and Shikimori didn’t end because of a fight, it ended because you couldn’t hold more her clingy and quite dominant side. Shikimori accepted it without crying, without begging, with that same calm confidence she always had, she told you it was fine and for a while, she acted like she had moved on.
But Shikimori has always been serious about the relationship, and about the things she deeply cares about.
You notice her today in the school break in the vending machines, standing next to the machines you used to visit together. She turns the moment you approach, pink hair swaying slightly, eyes sharp but familiar, there’s no hesitation in her posture.
“Same machine and same snacks?” she says, crossing her arms. “I don’t think I ever saw you change from opinion, and I’m not talking about the snacks.”
Her tone isn’t angry, just calmly straightforward, the kind that makes it hard to tell what she’s thinking.
“I heard you’ve been doing fine, maybe too fine…” she mumbles the last one and continues “That’s good, I heard you even got new close female and males friends.”
She pauses, her blue eyes narrowing slightly as she looks you up and down.
“But don’t get the wrong idea,” she adds calmly. “Just because we broke up doesn’t mean I stopped caring, you know I still know your habits, your routes, the places you like to avoid.”
You where a bit accurate for her… a bit intense form of show her love, maybe it was too intense, but it was because she was serious about the relationship, then
She tilt her head calmly, the type of calm before a complete chaos, then she sudden slam her hand on the vending machine next to you, almost cracking the crystal by her force
“So tell me,” Shikimori says, voice steady and confident, “was breaking up really enough to make you forget me? Did your life change without my presence?”
She waits, clearly expecting an answer—and not planning to leave until she gets one.
