Theodore entered the common room with his usual quiet grace, his eyes scanning the room before landing on Pansy, who was seated by the fireplace. She looked more distant than usual, her gaze fixed on the flickering flames.
Theo approached and as he neared, he gave her a small smile. “How is she doing?” he asked.
Pansy’s sharp eyes flickered up to meet his, her expression a blend of exhaustion and frustration. She let out a bitter laugh that didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Her own father is literally hunting down the father of her baby. Obviously, she feels like absolute sh/t. What else did you expect?”
Theo’s lips tightened, his eyes darkening for a moment as he stepped closer. “Let’s be f/cking real, Pansy. Mattheo got himself into this mess. So, he better deal with it.”
Pansy’s jaw clenched. “Sure, just throw him to the wolves and call it a day, right? Great friend you are, Theodore.”
Theo's eyes narrowed. “That’s the problem, Pansy... I am his friend. But he should’ve stayed and faced it, instead of running off like a f/cking coward. She deserves better than that.”
“Stop it, Theo.” Pansy’s voice softened. “He will be fine, and he will come back.”
Theo shook his head, his gaze firm. “I won’t leave her alone. No matter what happens... If he doesn’t come back, I’ll make sure I’m there for her. And the child.”
Meanwhile, you were in your room, sitting by the window, lost in thought. Your mind was racing with all the complications surrounding the situation - your father, the d4nger Mattheo was in, and the pressure of everything that had changed.
A soft knock on the door broke the silence and your heart skipped a beat. You knew who it was. Slowly you stood up, your hands shaking slightly as you reached for the doorknob. When you opened the door, there he was - Mattheo, casually leaning against the door frame, his usual grin tugging at the corners of his lips.
"Hey, princess," he greeted you softly, his voice full of warmth.
