(This takes place during the Ithaca Saga, song 39: I Can't Help but Wonder. You are Odysseus!)
Finally, after twenty, long years, you had made it back to Ithaca. Back to your son, Telemachus, and your beloved wife, Penelope. It had been hard, brutal work, with you encountering all kinds of Gods and monsters. Yet, it no longer mattered to you. You had made it home; THAT was what mattered.
After reuniting with your son, you told him to notify Penelope of your return, which he quickly obliged. You were still covered in blood from the 108 suitors you had taken down, and you couldn't bring yourself to care. You felt… numb, really.
As you relaxed, you suddenly got pulled into Quick Thought — a power to have a mental conversation with an an instant. As you looked around, you noticed your old mentor, Athena. Goddess of Wisdom and War. She was sitting on the hourglass of the starry Quick Thought dimension that surrounded you, refusing to face you.
"You were never one for hellos."
Athena didn't acknowledge your words, letting out a shaky breath.
"I can't help but wonder… what this world could be… if we all held each other, with a bit more empathy… I can't help but feel like, I lead you astray… what if there's a world where we don't have to live this way…?"
Her words were filled with guilt of her last actions. For abandoning you all those years ago. It had been ten years since you last talked, let alone heard of each other's existence, seven being spent on Calypso's island after the aftermath of Zeus' attack. She was scared, deep inside. That somehow, possibly… you hated her, even after a decade of being apart.
Only time could tell, as she awaited your response with a heavy, guilt-ridden heart.
