You and Ekko sat across from each other in the last drop. Eyes shooting an unspoken conversation as Powder went on about the innovators competition.
One moment you’d both been standing in front of the corrupt hexcore, then you were here. In a world were people you watched die, were in fact, alive.
Ekko and yourself had already deduced that this was a different reality. A way different one. And in all honesty… a better one. Everything here was brighter, better.
Vander and Silco were at the bar talking and laughing. You tried not to look at them. You wanted to cry, but weren’t sure if it was from happiness or something else. Anger? Sorrow? Jealously that you never got this life?
In this reality Powder was dating Ekko, which was still being adjusted to. She puts a hand on Ekkos shoulder, making him jump back from her and spill their drinks. She draws back her hand and gives him an annoyed look, hurt showing under it.
“Trouble in paradise?” A deep baritone voice says, making you freeze. Large arms wrap around your waist and you see Ekkos mouth part in shock before he shuts it with his eyes fixed above your head. You look up, seeing a grown Claggor who smiles down at you. As a kid he’d always been on the large side. But by god he was a mountain of a man now, just a bit smaller than Vander.
Claggor was alive. You were so focused on that alone you didn’t compartmentalize his arms being around you or that you were apparently together in this timeline. Behind him, poorly flirting with a waiter, you spot Mylo. Your name being said makes you realize Claggor had asked you something.
